Several levels of ideas for “two bikes in one”

How can we overcome the problems cyclists face in using bicycles on a daily basis? This is the challenge that Marco Muliere, an engineer from the University Federico II of Naples, has been working for ten years in the design of mechanical and automation systems. Co-inventor and co-founder of the start-up company UNIK INNOVATION, he and his small team aim to market M-BIKE, a smart bicycle, combining flexibility and comfort of use. 

M-BIKE (Modular Bike) is the first bicycle in the world that can be easily disassembled, without the need for any tools, into four modules, while offering the possibility to switch, in a flash, from 100% muscular propulsion to electric assistance. Fully disassemblable to be stored in a closet, or to be taken on the bus or train, this “two bikes in one” offers all the qualities required to adapt to daily needs, while avoiding the recurring problems (unsuitable bicycle paths, lack of secure parking areas) encountered by the followers of this zero-emission mode of transport. Behind its concept of optimal modularity, M-BIKE also keeps standard dimensions so that pedaling remains a pleasure. In the land of the Vespa, this innovative and contemporary bicycle has all the assets to put scooters and other thermal vehicles in the garage.
