Solar energy is growing in size and scope

The development of photovoltaic solutions on large roof surfaces, thanks to the manufacture of ultra-light photovoltaic panels.

Conquering the roofs of the world

HELIUP is a start-up created in 2022, which develops lightweight photovoltaic solutions dedicated to the roofs of logistics, commercial and industrial buildings. Through an innovation that allows a 60% reduction in the weight of photovoltaic panels when integrated into roofs, this CEA spin-off aims to revolutionize the development of solar energy.

Its technology, which guarantees a very competitive electricity production cost, is protected by three patents for which this Savoy-based start-up holds an exclusive license. In a context marked by the recent surge in energy prices, the proposed solution responds to the desire to facilitate the installation of solar panels on a large number of buildings in order to allow the companies that operate them to combine energy savings, independence of supply over more than 25 years, and reduction of their carbon footprint. By conquering the roofs of the world, HELIUP’s ambition is to become a major European player in an approach that reconciles reindustrialization and sustainable development.

“Our objective is to finalize an initial fundraising that will allow us to initiate an investment in a pilot production line for panels with a targeted capacity of 250,000 m²/year. This tool should enable us to market a first range of products to major building players and energy providers by the end of 2023.”
