These renewable raw materials replace fossil or mineral raw materials and thus contribute to the reduction of CO<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> emissions. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"decarbonizing-agriculture-and-industry\"><strong>Decarbonizing agriculture and industry<strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For this, CarbonWorks uses photosynthetic microalgae: they grow by absorbing carbon C from CO<sub>2<\/sub> and release oxygen O<sub>2<\/sub>. Microalgae, organisms between 10 and 100 microns in size, can also produce particular molecules: limestone, silica, lipids, proteins, toxins, etc. By choosing the right strain of algae, we grow micro-plants that naturally produce the desired molecule.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To produce raw materials and capture CO<sub>2<\/sub> at the scale of agriculture and industry needs, CarbonWorks is developing an innovative technology for intensive microalgae cultivation. It measures the quality of its developments against three indicators: life cycle analysis (reducing any negative impact), land ownership (as small as possible), cost (in the market). It has filed 11 patents and is continuing its research and scaling up of its technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CarbonWorks also develops with its team of microbiologists the renewable raw materials expected by agriculture and industry.
