An ACT blade is composed by an internal composite fishbone structure, made of a spar and ribs and it is entirely covered with highly engineered textile.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a subsidiary of ACT Blade Ltd, co-fFounded by Sabrina Malpede, ACT BLADE EUROPE implements leading-edge aeroelastic design technology -successfully developed for competitive racing yachts- to produce the lightest and most adaptable wind turbine blade. This blade offers a step-change innovation in design and production for the wind turbine sector greater than almost any other single innovation available in the industry, as well as a wide range of other environmental and social benefits. The ACT Blade technology, protected by two international patents, will directly support the development of renewable wind energy on a larger scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to a new patented construction method and the use of textiles, the ACT blade is up to 32% lighter than conventional blades, allowing it to be 10% longer and directly contribute to the production of 9% more energy. Another advantage: its modular structure requires smaller installations and promotes a lean production process with low energy consumption.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"TA23_TEMOIGNAGE\"><div class=\"TA23_TCI_TEXTE\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIn 2014, when we were working for the America\u2019s Cup, we created a new type of wind turbine, with the co-founders and directors Dr. Donald MacVicar and Alessandro Rosiello. After an initial analysis, we founded ACT Blade Ltd in 2015. The last few years have been very intense, we not only developed the idea, which is now protected by patents, but also developed full-scale prototypes to corroborate its feasibility and effectiveness.
